Gareth is passionate about quality learning experiences for all children and has an in-depth understanding and wealth of experience from Early Years through Primary and Higher Education. He has a proven track record of improving outcomes for children and has made notable contributions to school improvement, nationally, locally and within and across schools in both England and Wales.
Gareth is presently working with Pie Corbett and John Standard (OBE) on the EEF’s Primary Writing Project; helping to implement a structured programme that trains and coaches teachers and leadership teams on the effective teaching of writing. Beyond this, within his role as role as National Strategies Adviser for Language Literacy he delivered contextualised, pertinent and quality training to a broad range of national audiences. It was within this role he designed and wrote a range of published supporting materials around the development of literacy and language. More recently, he still works on developing interventions that are rooted in pedagogy and informed in his weekly classroom literacy teaching, in which he makes a point of modelling effective approaches to teaching and learning alongside practitioners.
Gareth is based in Chester and is available for training in north Wales, Cheshire and Staffordshire.
